The Pavillon des Lettres: The “write” place to be

Open since November 2010, this new establishment in the Elysée district is based on a good idea carried out to the letter. The Pavillon des Lettres links the arts of writing and interior design by paying tribute to various literary figures. The hotel’s 26 rooms and suites (like the letters of the alphabet!) aim to recreate different authors’ styles. Each room honours a writer, whose identity is gradually revealed through certain pieces printed on the walls. The atmosphere is one of muted elegance and hushed modernity, providing a timeless getaway. Didier Benderli decorated this hotel; it is the second belonging to the Chevalier family, the first being the Pavillon de la Reine at the Place des Vosges. Neither has its own restaurant, but there are countless fine choices in the surrounding neighbourhood of each.
